Where our property information comes from

We publish a page for residential properties in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. If you own or live in one of them, some of the information on that page relates to you, and data protection law gives you rights over it. This notice explains where it comes from and what you can do.

Where we get the information. We did not get it from you. We get it from:

Why we publish it, and on what legal basis. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (Art 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). Our interest is in operating a property marketplace where homeowners can understand their position before deciding to sell, and buyers can understand a property before committing to it. Every factual source above is already a public register, published so that people can see this information. We have carried out and documented a legitimate interests assessment and will provide it on request.
How long we keep it. For as long as we publish a page for that property. Where a source record is corrected or withdrawn — for example when an EPC is withdrawn — we stop showing it.
Who we share it with. Nobody. We do not sell this data, and we do not offer bulk access to it. We use analytics providers to understand how our pages are used; they do not receive your address.
Your rights. You can ask us to:
- see what we hold about your property (Art 15);
- correct anything that is wrong (Art 16);
- erase it (Art 17);
- restrict what we do with it (Art 18).
Your right to object
You have the right to object at any time to us publishing information about your property, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art 21(1) UK GDPR). If you object, we will stop publishing the page unless we can show compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests.
To object, email clients@openforoffer.com with the address. We will reply within one month.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time — ico.org.uk, or 0303 123 1113. You do not have to contact us first.
